Tolman was praised for her portrayal of Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair said that Tolman "calmly and assuredly stole" the film. Critics' Choice Television Award, Best Supporting Actress (Movie/Miniseries) as well as Golden Globe awards were announced to Tolman for her performance.
